This depends on the cover. All roll-up and retractable tonneaus allow full-bed access. But most tri-fold designs cover the front third of the bed when folded up, and they need to be removed for full-bed access. Do Tonneau Covers Improve Fuel Economy

The Installation Of This Cover

The installation of this cover was simple and quick. Installed on my F150 short box with bed liner, the fit was precision. The instructions are easy to follow but the short and to the point, YouTube video made them virtually unnecessary. Rev Rolling Tonneau Cover Vs Bak Revolver X4s

This is just an FYI based on pictures I’ve seen of the REV hard rolling tonneau cover vs. the BAK Revolver X4s. REV is apparently the brand name BAK uses for their manufacturer branded stuff. In the original BAK Revolver X4 cover, they used felt strips on the sides of the cover where you touch to roll it up. This same felt is also on the REV version. I assume the REV is the X4 with a Ford emblem.

I have seen reviews where people say this felt starts falling off in the heat. The latest Revolver X4s does not have felt, but rather rubber panels physically attached to the metal. Overall they’ve made several improvements over the X4.

So, in my opinion, waiting for BAK to release the X4s for the Maverick will be worth it, unless you’re really obsessed with having that Ford logo.

Can I Install A Cover Myself

All of the tonneaus here are easy to install yourself and dont require any modifications to the truck bed. Typically, they come pre-assembled, requiring you to only install clamps, supports, and perhaps frame rails. Virtually every company posts installation videos or downloadable instructions on their websites, so check those out before you buy.

I Really Like The Look Of Thi

I really like the look of this product installed on my 2015 Ford F150. My only real concern is how strong it is. I do not believe it would hold up under a load, if someone were to step onto the cover or even place a heavy object on the cover. I never have to find out the answer.

Bought This Cover For My 2016

Bought this cover for my 2016 Tacoma. The overall construction of the cover is not bad. However, the cover was missing hardware/parts when I received it. Partsengine worked hard to get them for me immediately and the MFR supplied them without issue. The price was hundreds less than any local shop I inquired at. Installation instructions were a little vague but an online youtube video cleared a few things up just fine. Took me a couple hours to install. So far, the cover looks good and I am pleased with it but time will tell how good it is in the long run.

Continuous Hook And Loop

A continuous hook and loop fastener strip occupies a portion of the rail and is pre-installed on the underside of the Tonneau cover. The fastener strip is designed to mate with a receiver hook strip that comes packaged within the box, which simply slides into place over the top of the hook and loop fastener already in place on your truck bed.

Do Tonneau Covers Deter Theft

All tonneau covers conceal a truck beds cargo from onlookers, which is a good deterrent in itself. But most depend on the trucks tailgate being locked to prevent someone physically accessing your gear. Thats because the release latches are located under the cover near the tailgate.

Soft covers are also inherently more vulnerable to theft than hard covers because they can be cut open with a sharp implement. And covers sealed with Velcro or another hook-and-loop fastener, such as roll-up covers, can often be separated enough on the sides to allow someone to look inside.
