Qualifications:

• Must be able to learn MWR policies, rules, and regulations, involving the Community Recreation program.
• Basic reading comprehension in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides.
• Basic custodial tasks .
• Basic computer operations and keyboarding skills to include operation of point of sale systems as well as desktop computers.
• Basic arithmetic calculations .
• Basic customer service delivery methods to identify customer needs, deliver expected service, and/or resolve routine customer issues.
• Basic understanding of elements of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation department to answer customer questions and/or refer them to the appropriate activity.
• Must obtain Emergency First Responder or CPR certification, Food Handlers and C.A.R.E training, where applicable within 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Nestled in the middle of the Admiral Baker Golf Course in Mission Valley, this picnic area and RV Park are surrounded by green grass and tree-lined roads. The grounds are centrally located just a few miles away from the major San Diego freeways, Interstate 8 and Interstate 15, and only ten minutes away from the city’s Qualcomm Stadium.

The grounds are well suited for adults and children as they feature extensive playground equipment, and outdoor swimming pool, picnic areas, volleyball courts, basketball courts, ball fields and horseshoe pits. The RV Park offers RV sites with water, electric and sewage hook-ups.

Laundry and showers are also available. Reservations may be made a year in advance by active duty military members, and six months in advance for all other eligible former military patrons. Maximum stay at the park is 30 days.

Pets are allowed in the RV Park area but not in the picnic area, but must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times. Sites are different lengths we appreciate your flexibility to ensure we can accommodate as many customers as possible.

From Interstate 8: Take Mission Gorge Road to Friars Road and turn left. Continue on to Santo Road and turn right. Make an immediate right again onto Admiral Baker Road and follow it down the hill. At the bottom on the hill turn right into the parking lot.

This is a military campground that is now open to the public. The campground is well taken care of with large grassy areas. It’s a great central location near Qualcomm Stadium. Nights are a bit quiet in this campground because there are no fire rings and most campers are inside their RV’s. If you are looking for a quiet campground at a good rate, this is your place. It’s nice, clean, and the amenities are good. There is a golf course at the campground however, it’s for military use only.

The WiFi was free but the login screen did require your credit card number therefore, Campbase declined to use the service. In our opinion, a free service should not ask for a card number.

There is so much to do in San Diego it’s difficult to pick what to do next.
