Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, turn chicken, spoon over Sauce. Bake for a further 30 minutes, then remove and spoon over Sauce.

In a small bowl using a rubber spatula, mix 1/3 cup of mix with 3 teaspoons of water. Press down on the clumps as you mix to get it as smooth as possible.
Grease the pan that comes with the oven. Spread the mix evenly into the pan. This takes some patience. Its thick and it keeps pulling away when you try to smooth it. But you can do it!
Bake for 15 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes in the cooling chamber.
Run a plastic knife around the edges of the pan and carefullyyes carefully remove the cake from the pan. I found that if I kind of gently pushed my plastic knife under the cake it came out without being destroyed.

It took some research and a lot of trial and error, but my daughter and I hit upon just the right formula for using store-bought cake mixes to make our own Easy Bake Oven refills.
We tested several brands in the process. While the method Im going to share worked reasonably well for all the brands we tried, we both agreed that the Duncan Hines Signature cake mixes consistently produced the best results.
