Weve always got chocolate syrup in our refrigerator because half of our family loves making their own chocolate milk. As a chocolate connoisseur, I love the idea of using chocolate syrup instead of cocoa powder to put a twist on basic brownies.

We were trying to guess how much syrup is in a Hersheys bottle. Wed say between 1 1/2 and 2 cups. You definitely want to start with a new bottle of syrup when making this recipe.

Pouring the chocolate syrup into the batter just makes your mouth water! This easy recipe is such a unique way to make brownies without cocoa powder.

Overview: How To Make Easy No

Have I mentioned yet how easy these cookies are? Besides using super basic ingredients, the method couldnt be simpler. Whisk the butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder together in a medium pot until the butter melts. Once boiling in the center, start a timer. Let it simmer for 1 minute. After that, immediately remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract. Once combined, stir in the oats.

Grab your timer again and let the mixture cool for 4-5 minutes. This gives the oats some time to absorb the liquid, which makes scooping and shaping much easier. If you used a super thin natural-style peanut butter, let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Line a couple baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Drop 1 Tablespoon sized mounds about 2 inches apart on the baking sheets. Feel free to slightly flatten down the cookies with the back of a spoon. Let the cookies set in the refrigerator for about 30-60 minutes. Thats it, were done.

How Do I Make These No Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

Combine oats and salt and mix them together into a large mixing bowl. Set aside.

Meanwhile, In a saucepan whisk together light butter, unsweetened almond or skim milk, and sugar substitute.

Stir until butter melts. Add cocoa powder and continue to stir occasionally as it cooks over medium-high heat.

Bring to a boil, and boil for 1 minute.

Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla.

Pour mixture over the oats. Stir until well combined.

Spread a sheet of parchment parchment or wax paper on the counter top.

Using a small cookie scoop, drop onto the parchment paper.

Allow cookies to cool. It can take 10-15 minutes for the cookies to set.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 1 month.

My sister Diana and I started making this chocolate peanut butter spread a long time ago. I think it was in the early 80s and we called it slop. I dont remember what prompted us to even try this, probably just hungry and had chocolate syrup and peanut butter in the house. This was long before Hersheys chocolate spread and Reeses peanut butter spread came out. This is better than both. You have to try it and see for yourself. You can can even use Hersheys syrup and Reeses peanut butter to make it so they arent left out.

In more recent years a product similar to this came on the market. The ones Ive tried arent quite the same. Maybe its the ingredients or just not as much chocolate syrup as Im used to and as weve always made it.

Use a peanut butter and chocolate syrup you like. I do use a no stir natural peanut butter and that works well. Ive never tried this with the natural peanut butter where the oil separates and has to be mixed in so that might throw off the recipe. I usually use Hersheys chocolate syrup. Generic is fine as long as it tastes good to you.

You can dip pretzels in it, spread it on a cookie, eat it by itself and Im sure you can come up with more ideas! The pic in this post has it spread on a pecan butter cookie I bought at the store.

This is easy to make and only two ingredients.

Put the peanut butter and chocolate syrup in a bowl and mix until well combined. Thats it. You are done.

Can You Use Old Fashioned Oats In No Bake Cookies

Yes! You can use old fashioned oats or quick cooking oats in no bake cookies. Quick cooking oats are coarsely chopped old fashioned oats. Using old fashioned oats will give the cookies more texture and make them chewier.

I like to use quick-cooking oats when I make chocolate no bake cookies for my family.

Step Five: Form Cookies

Once the cookie dough comes together, drop it by spoonfuls onto parchment paper. Youll want to work quickly to form the cookies before the chocolate hardens.

You likely have most of the ingredients you need to make these no-bake cookies on hand already. If you don’t, it’s a good idea to get them and make your first few batches exactly according to the recipe before you try any substitutions or exclusions, says Latimer. “I don’t suggest substitution with the base syrup ingredients. Otherwise, it’s a different cookie, and you can run into problems with the syrup not setting correctly.”

You’ll need one cup butter , a cup of milk, four cups of sugar, a half cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, two teaspoons of vanilla extract, one cup of creamy peanut butter , and six cups of oats. Note that “quick oats are best, while old fashioned can be used. Instant oatmeal or steel cut oats are not recommended.”

How To Make No Bake Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies:

Start by grabbing your medium saucepan and mix together the corn syrup and brown sugar over medium heat. Make sure to stir continuously until the syrup and brown sugar mixture comes to a full boil.

PRO TIP: Make sure that the corn syrup and brown sugar come to a full boil or else the cookies wont come together.

Then take the saucepan off the heat, and add in the peanut butter and vanilla extract and stir it in well.

In your large mixing bowl, pour all of the rice krispies cereal. Then, add in the peanut butter mixture to the cereal. Stir everything up well until all of the cereal is well coated.

Now, grab some of the rice krispies mixture into your hand and roll it into a small ball, about 1 ½ inch or so and then place it onto the cookie sheet lined with waxed paper or parchment paper.

Then, using your thumb, press a small indent into the ball and then place a chocolate kiss into the indent and continue to push the kiss down a little further. This should form the cookie around the base of the kiss.

Once that is done, let the no bake peanut butter kiss cookies sit and cool for a few minutes until they set up fully. Then, be sure to store them in an airtight container to keep them from drying out.
