Traditional cheesecake can be tricky for even experienced bakers. To make a beautiful cake without browning or cracks, you may find yourself perpetually experimenting with different tips and tricks from leaving it in the oven to creating a water bath. It can be complicated and frustrating to find that foolproof technique. This no-bake cheesecake made with cream cheese is so delicious with none of the hassles. Its much lighter than a traditional cheesecake more mousse-like in texture than cake-like. It takes less than 30 minutes to prepare, and youll have a guaranteed success. Plus, there are so many simple ways to customize it for a real top-tier dessert.

Whats The Differencebetween New York And Philadelphia Cheesecake

Believe it or not, this cheesecake rivalry isnt necessarily one between states. The Philadelphia cheesecake name actually comes from the cream cheese brand. In fact, youll usually see Philadelphia Cheesecake referred to simply as cheesecake, while New York style is a different variation. The main difference is that New York Cheesecake uses fats beyond the cream cheese to get its thickness, usually sour cream and eggs. In classic cheesecake, there is no need for eggs, especially if its not baked.

How To Thaw Your Frozen Cheesecake

If you froze your whole cheesecake or individual cheesecake slices, you need to know how to properly thaw it.

Frozen cheesecake is best if its allowed to sit in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. Remove the aluminum foil, but be sure to leave it in its plastic wrap so that it doesnt absorb odors and flavors from other foods.

If you need your frozen cheesecake to thaw more quickly, you can allow it to sit on the counter for two to four hours to defrost. When defrosting your cheesecake, be sure to remove the foil, but leave it in the plastic wrap.

Are you in a bind and need your cheesecake thawed ASAP? You can use the microwave to thaw your frozen cheesecake, but you have to be super careful to do this.

  • Remove the foil and plastic wrap.
  • Thaw in the microwave in 20-second intervals, checking your cheesecake after each 20-second period.
  • Can You Freeze A No

Definitely! You can freeze your no-bake cheesecake so you can enjoy it at a later time. Heres how:

You can either freeze the cheesecake whole or cut them into slices your call.

  • Transfer the cheesecake to a cake board. This gives the cake a firm foundation for freezing. If you dont have a cake board, just cut out some cardboard and youre all set.
  • Double wrap the cheesecake in plastic wrap and foil. If youve sliced it up, double wrap each individual slice. Double wrapping is an important step because it protects your cheesecake from contact with air.
  • Label your cheesecake with the current date so you know how much time it has left. Frozen cheesecake is best enjoyed within one month, but it can still last for up to two.
  • Important tip: be sure to freeze cheesecake without the topping. When thawed, it will become entirely too mushy. Instead, add your favorite topping just before serving.

How To Make Philadelphia No Bake Cheesecake

Philadelphia No Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake Filling, 24.3 oz Tub ...

Now, the steps required to make this Philadelphia no bake cheesecake recipe are super simple. Even if you’ve never made cheesecake before, you’ll find this to be a breeze and turn out perfect.

Keep in mind that although this recipe only takes about 10 minutes to make, the cheesecake will have to chill in the fridge for a few hours.

So, you’ll want to plan accordingly if you’re serving it that day. But if you don’t need it for a few days, you can totally make it ahead of time – more on that later.

Now, let’s stop wasting time and get into it!

Step 1: Make The Cheesecake Filling

First, you’ll make the smooth and creamy cheesecake filling.

To do that, add the Philadelphia cream cheese, sour cream, granulated sugar, and pure vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl.

Then, using an electric mixer, mix all of these ingredients together until they’re soft and creamy and peaks just begin to form.

Step 2: Fold in The Cool Whip

After the cheesecake mixture is combined, you can complete the filling.

So, add the cool whip to the bowl and gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture with a rubber spatula until it just combines. Just keep in mind you don’t want to overmix the filling.

Step 3: Assemble The No Bake Cheesecake

To finish up, pour the cheesecake filling on top of the graham cracker crust.

Finally, take the chilled cheesecake out of the fridge, slice it, and enjoy!

This no bake Philadelphia cheesecake is one of those recipes everyone needs in their repertoire. An easy vanilla cheesecake that’s perfect to make ahead.

Serve it on its own to let the classic flavors shine. Or decorate to your heart’s content with everything from fresh seasonal fruit to a vibrant compote or curd, rich chocolate ganache or sticky caramel sauce. The possibilities are endless!

Of course if a whole cake is just too much cheesecake why not try making my no bake mini cheesecakes. Same great taste, but a miniature version!

How To Make These Philadelphia No Bake Mini Cheesecakes

Once youve got both the filling and the crust ready, youve got 2 options:

    • make a one cheesecake or
    • make 8 mini cheesecakes.

Either way, youll add the crust ingredients first, press them down tightly together until that mixture looks like crust. Add the filling on top and flatten with a silicone spatula or the backside of a spoon can work too.

If you choose to use silicone muffin cups as I did for the mini cheesecakes, I recommend you freeze the cheesecakes for an hour, then take off the liners and store the cheesecakes in the fridge or freeze again.

If you make a bigger cheesecake, use a springform and you might actually find using parchment paper helpful . In that case, leave the cheesecake in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours.

Cheesecake is definitely my favorite dessert! And a long time ago I taught myself how to make an easy cheesecake without baking, gelatine, eggs or heavy cream. I evolved some more and found out I can make a healthier cheesecake crust without graham crackers, but with oats and cinnamon. And today, I wanted to share this delicious no bake cheesecake recipe that comes with a simple oat crust. I turned this recipe into mini cheesecakes, but you can definitely use this recipe and a smaller springform pan to make one bigger and healthier cheesecake. You only need 6 ingredients. Lets start with the no bake cheesecake filling.

Why Did My No Bake Cheesecake Not Set

    Philadelphia Cheesecake Recipe No Bake

A couple of reasons. The first is it hasn’t been left in the fridge for long enough. The absolute minimum time needed to set a no bake cheesecake is four hours. However it’s much safer to make it the night beforehand and let it set overnight for at least 12 hours. Second, the cream may not have been whipped to stiff peaks – this can lead to runny cheesecake.

    How Long Does Cheesecake Last

In general, a homemade cheesecake will last in for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. Just place aluminum foil or plastic wrap over the pie. However, I often will place individual pie servings in an airtight container, so it doesnt absorb any other refrigerator flavors or odors. It is easier to grab a snack too.

A cheesecake that has been purchased in a grocery store often has preservatives and can last up to 7 days in the refrigerator.

The best part is that you can freeze individual slices or freeze an entire cheesecake. Follow these instructions for the best results.
