I was staying at the Super 8 with my basketball team and with seven one room and eight in a second room. We had many other people we know staying there and almost everyone agreed that the Super 8 has a plumbing issue. My room specifically the toilet would clog just by going pee, and the toilet bowl over flowed with water many times, then in that same room, the sink would occasionally leak as well and between the two leakage problems the carpet was soaked. We asked the staff to fix the toilet and sink a multitude of times, and once it took them over two hours to come to our room even though they said they would be there in five minutes tops. They said that theyd clean up the water on the floor in the bathroom and never did, so my teammates and I did it ourselves and they had very few towels and the room service was a bit slow, but was fairly good. Some of the staff members were very personable, and others not so much. The breakfast they provided was really good especially there waffle maker! The pool and spa was nice, but the pool had a TON of chlorine, and in the spa you could see random hair floating around. Some of the people Ive talked to compared it to a local inn called Knights Inn, and said there very similar in a bad way. But if I had to I would stay there again.

Fire Department Closes Super 8 Motel Motel 6 In Baker City Due To Fire Safety Violations

The Baker City Fire Department on Monday closed the Super 8 motel and Motel 6 in Baker City after inspectors found that the fire alarm systems had been disabled at both motels, and that the sprinkler system was partially dismantled at the Super 8.

These system disablements pose a significant life safety risk to occupants of the motels, particularly guests that sleep in these facilities, Baker City Fire Chief John Clark said in a press release Tuesday.

Clark said both motels, which are owned by the same group and which between them have 112 rooms, will remain closed until the owners have corrected all the violations of the Oregon State Fire Code.

Clark said the owners had brought in a contractor from Meridian, Idaho, to look at both motels Tuesday.

He said he cant estimate how long it might take to fix the violations, although he believes the problems at the Motel 6 would be simpler to rectify.

I dont see the Super 8 as being a quick fix, Clark said in a Tuesday interview.
