But Gary Watkinson eats three plates of the snack a day, and claims he has never eaten anything else.

And despite his bizarre addiction, doctors have told the 25-year-old he is perfectly healthy.

Mr Watkinson, from Huddersfield, said: ‘Ever since I can remember, from when I was a kid, I have only eaten beans, toast and chips.

‘My mum used to give me plates of other food for me to try and I would just throw it on the floor. I would only eat beans.’

He doesn’t eat any fruit or vegetables, or any other kind of carbohydrates or cereal.

‘I get up in the morning and have beans on toast for breakfast, then again for lunch and dinner,’ he said.

He’s the real-life Mr Bean.

Gary Watkinson chomps through three plates of the stuff a day and reckons he has never eaten anything else.

But despite his bizarre addiction, doctors have told him he is perfectly healthy and has nothing to worry about.

Gary, 25, from Huddersfield, West Yorks., said: “Ever since I can remember, from when I was a kid, I have only eaten beans, toast and chips.

“My mum used to give me plates of other other food for me to try and I would just throw it on the floor. I would only eat beans.”

He said a recent story he read about a girl who died aged 22 from eating a similar diet prompted a doctor’s appointment for a medical check up.

“They took my blood sample but it all came back healthy”, Gary said.

“They told me I was fine. I’m actually quite slim and only weigh 11 stone.”

He added: “I don’t eat fruit or veg, or any other kind of carbs or cereal. I get up in the morning and have beans on toast for breakfast, then again for lunch and dinner.

“I don’t even have cheese on it. When I tell people they can’t believe it. The beans on toast thing has only been more recent though, before that it was just beans and toast separately.”

Gary, who is currently unemployed and lives with girlfriend Beth Hall, 20, and dog Kezzle, says his all-bean diet is even restricted to one particular brand, and he only drinks milk and water, too.
