Baker’s legitimate profession as a dentist is often referenced as part of her character in AEW, so much so that Pro Wrestling Torch observed that “it became a parody”. The character was originally described as “happy”, but following her heel turn, it has been described as “too proud” and “delusional”. The character also began referring to herself as a “role model”. Using the name Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. in AEW, Baker says she intentionally incorporated “Dr.” and “D.M.D.” despite the tautology of employing both to enhance “her character’s obnoxiousness”. She uses a fusion of a scissored armbar and the mandible claw, which attacks an opponent’s mouth, as a finisher, named Lockjaw. She associates with Tony Schiavone, whom she calls one of her best friends, and fellow professional wrestler Rebel, who accompanies her during her matches.

In a kayfabe sense, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., the former Womens World Champion for pro wrestling upstart AEW, doesnt stray too far from the norm. After all, there have been wrestling plumbers, wrestling garbage men, wrestling accountants, wrestling monks and even other wrestling dentists ” rel=”nofollow”> Isaac Yankem, DDS) before. What makes Baker different, though, is that her Doctor of Dental Medicine designation is no gimmick. She is very much a real dentist, who continues to practice on the days she isnt performing as one of the top female wrestlers in the world.
In that way, the Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania native is a throwback to pro athletes from a bygone era who had to supplement their incomes through ordinary off-season jobs. Baseball Hall of Famer Jim Palmer, for instance, used to sell suits, while Yogi Berra doubled as a hardware salesman at Sears and occasional waiter when the Yankees werent winning the World Series. For Baker, however, dentistry isnt a way to boost her meager earnings she does quite well for herself wrestling but because she loves it as much as she loves competing in the squared circle. It turns that out that her spiritual calling is violently knocking out your teeth and then politely reinserting them.

Britt Baker Details How She Balances Being A Dentist And Aew Star
Britt Baker is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars on the current AEW women’s roster. She kills it with every appearance she makes on programming, whether that be in a match or during a promo. In addition to being one of the most prominent women in wrestling today, the Pennsylvania native also works full-time as a practicing dentist in Florida.
In an interview with “Mel Magazine”, Baker detailed what a typical week would look like in her hectic life.
“Monday and Tuesday, I’m at the dental office. On Tuesday, I’ll work as late as I possibly can, which is usually until around 4 or 5 p.m. Then I go home, grab my suitcase, and go straight to the airport.
“Wednesday is when Dynamite airs, which is our main TV show. I’m usually up pretty late that night, until about 2 a.m. on Thursday morning. I might get one or two hours of sleep before I have to catch the 5 or 6 a.m. flight back home to get to the dental office.”
Baker continued to say that while her schedule is crazy, she wouldn’t have things any other way because she can do her two dream jobs at the same time. She also noted that when she first started juggling wrestling and dental school simultaneously, she faced hostility from people in both fields due to the nature of the two careers being opposites. She went on to say that as time has passed, the perception has changed and many people admire that she can balance both at the same time.

More Wrestling Fans Making Dental Appointments With Dr Britt Baker
Business is booming for D.M.D.
During a recent appearance at Planet Comicon, AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker revealed that more and more people are making dental appointments with her as a result of her status as one of the hottest stars of Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling.
Said appearance took place just over a week ago, with Baker joined by Leva Bates for a panel discussion about AEW and beyond. With this panel chat now up and online, Fightful picked up on the Role Model’s comments.
“The number’s definitely rising rapidly. I’m getting a lot more fans. Surprisingly, a lot of people are driving from Jacksonville to Orlando because they’ve been in a crowd for our Jacksonville shows. It’s cool, though, because they’re not there to just chat or take a picture or get an autograph. They’re there for an appointment and to get a cleaning. It’s kinda of cool because I really am a role model. We’re improving oral health because I’m a wrestler and a dentist.”
On being able to notice when a wrestling fan enters her office, D.M.D. added:
“A lot of times they’re really nervous. I’m really good at picking up on when they’re a fan or when they’re not, and I get really excited when it’s a wrestling fan because they’re there for two reasons and they’re excited. I’m a wrestling fan too, so I put myself in their position. But I think so, I like to think they respect me a little more than the average dentist, because I’m the best in the game right now, so they have to.”

She is a local dentist here in Orlando. And when she’s not cleaning teeth … she is kicking butt!
Baker is a member of All Elite Wrestling and is the company’s current women’s world champion.
She’s performing on AEW’s brand new show, “Rampage,” which airs Friday nights at 10 p.m. on TNT.
We asked her what it’s like to balance being a full-time dentist and professional wrestler.
She also talks about her journey up the AEW rankings, her main event match with Thunder Rosa and what it’s like to once again perform in front of a live audience.

Aews Dr Britt Baker Dmd Shows Off Rock
Following All Elite Wrestlings latest show, AEW star Dr. Britt Baker DMD gave fans a look at her sculpted abs in a photo featuring her stunning ring gear.
The real-life dentist and pro wrestler wore some of that gear during a recent AEW event, but this time it was for a ringside appearance to support her ally, Jamie Hayter.
Bakers unique outfit might bring a Homelander or Captain Marvel vibe for some, as it features similar colors to the popular superhero costumes.
Her jacket, top, and shorts include blue and red in the design, with gold trim adorning parts of her outfit.
For the shot, Baker stands with the focus entirely on her as her hands grab the sides of her jacket, and her long locks flow down the front of it.
Baker gives a somewhat serious look towards viewers, with a bit of a smirk and her tongue to one side.
Her caption offers little in terms of a message beyond reminding fans of her DMD title, with the letters also the callout and chant that fans often give her at shows.

Britt Baker Responds To Fan Questioning Why She Still Works Her Day Job As A Dentist
Earlier this week, former AEW Womens World Champion Dr. Britt Baker released a statement on her title loss to Thunder Rosa last Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. Later on, a Twitter user commented on Dr. Baker still working with her own personal practice as a dentist, despite being a top star in AEW.
The Twitter user wrote, Are you really saying you have to work a day job still even though youre featured prominently on national tv?
Following her title loss, Dr. Baker issued the following statement on Thursday, March 17:
While others relax & recover on their day off, Im just leaving the dental office for the day bruised and cut up, on 2 hours of sleep after traveling halfway across the country. I might have lost, but I gave you all the best damn womens championship reign that none of you undeserving idiots will appreciate until Im champion again. This will always be my division. To all those I paved the way wave for, youre welcome. -DMD
Dr. Britt Baker lost the title to Thunder Rosa after holding the belt for 291 days.

Britt Bakers Dentist Office: Yes Shes A Real Dentist
Many fans have been stunned to learn that, when Britt Baker isnt giving everything she has in the ring, she works as a dentist.
However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, dentist offices have been mostly shut.
About her work as a dentist, Britt Baker, said: All dental offices are closed except for emergencies, so for me its actually kind of like a much-needed break.
As you can imagine, juggling a wrestling career with dentist duties is no easy feat and Baker said that because of the closures, shes had more time to focus on her wrestling career and promoting the matches:
Its kind of a nice, deep breath to give myself a second to breathe because I was going really, really hard as far as travelling and working and travelling back home and minimal sleep. So this is a nice recharge for me.
According to her Care Dash page, Baker has an overall patient experience rating of 4.3 out of 5 and her dentist office focuses on traumatic dental injury, temporomandibular joint syndrome , abscessed tooth.

Baker, who is a practicing dentist, believes the mainstream wrestling audience is still learning about her after being first introduced to them at last years All In pay-per-view. She faces rival Bea Priestley on Full Gears Buy In pre-show Saturday in Baltimore. The 28-year-old Baker, the first woman signed by AEW, sees this feud as her chance to reveal more of herself and connect with the companys fanbase
These fans dont know all of Britt Baker and when they do, I hope more than anything that its something they fully get on board with or something that may want to boo me out of the arena, Baker said in a phone interview. There is nothing worse than being in the middle, where fans just dont care. So I hope more than anything that they form an opinion of me one way or the other because I dont want to be the person they dont care about. They can boo me, they can cheer me, as long as theres some kind of reaction.
The Punxsutawney, Pa. native said shes getting a reaction from the area crowds, but hasnt connected to the AEW audience on the whole at the level she would like yet. Baker has only wrestled on three of the six episodes of AEWs new weekly program Dynamite, which airs on TNT.
I have to say I poke the bear a little bit more with the competitive side than he does, so its all in good fun, Baker said.

Britt Baker recently spoke with Blake Oestriecher of Forbes and revealed how AEW fans sometime visit her at her dental practice.
It was noted that Baker often has wrestling fans visiting her at her dental office, and while they are usually respectful, she sometimes has to remind them that she is there to work and not play a character on TV. Bakers diehard fans even get their teeth cleaned at her practice.
Baker said she is grateful to have two stable careers that give her financial security, and will allow her to progress her career as an in-ring performer on her own terms. She said shes fortunate that AEW gives her the chance to still work as a dentist. She also commented on how she still has a lot of student loans to pay.
I have two stable financial careers, and Im very fortunate that AEW gives me the opportunity to still be a dentist because its something that Im very passionate about, she said. I went to school for eight years. I paid a lot of money, and I still have a lot of money in student loans. But I just didnt want to have to give that up at any point in my life. And if I do have to give it up at some point, then OK. But right now, I dont want to choose and I dont have to choose. Any other company in the world, this wouldnt happen. I wouldnt be a wrestler and a dentist. I would be a wrestler that was a dentist at one point.
