Tim Hortons Cafe And Bake Shop

Have you been to the new Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop yet? If not you definitely should. New stores are opening close to your home and workplace. We have had the pleasure of working with Show Me Hospitality, the franchisee for Tim Hortons, on all of the locations.

We have recently completed two stores. One store is located on BJCsCWE campus and another in downtown St. Louis. The downtown store is located in Park Pacific Building and the grand opening will be on Wednesday, February 3rd.

We have also completed construction documents for the first metro-east Tim Hortons Cafe in OFallon, IL. This location will be a bit different than the other in the sense that it will be shared with Reliance Bank. The concept of combining these two entities was tested at Reliance Bank in Frontenac with a Tim Hortons kiosk. Even though this is a relatively new concept, both clients see the benefits and expect great results. Construction for the OFallon store is expected to begin in few weeks.

Belleville News-Democrat has published an article on the new OFallon cafe-bank. Please click here for the full article.

We would love to hear what you think about Tim Hortons and the concept of combing Tim Hortons with Reliance Bank. Be sure to leave us a comment below.

Ribbon Cutting And Public Opening

Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop

So it seems there are two important times for today. 11:30am and 2pmNOON!

The official Ribbon Cutting ceremony is scheduled at 11:30am. This information comes from our friends at radio station SOJO 104.9 They state in their recent post that the ribbon cutting information comes from Stratfords Boro Clerk.

UPDATE: We are hearing that signage says the Stratford store opens at NOON. Which makes more sense immediately following the ribbon-cutting.

And yes we expect the next few days to be very busy for Tim Hortons!

Interestingly I cant locate anything official from Tim Hortons on this new location. It is not on their website store locator, there is no Facebook page or event for the location. I dont even see an official press release. Even the Stratford Town website doesnt call out the grand opening, and its been a bit of a big deal for the town. Just seems a little strange! Lets not tell anyone we are opening, after spending 7 figures to develop the place!

And while you are there to check out Tim Hortons, drive a block away and visit the also amazing Philadelphia Provision eatery!

Name Change And Growth

The company had originally been incorporated as Tim Donut Limited. By the 1990s, the company name had changed to The TDL Group Ltd. This was an effort by the company to diversify the business, removing the primary emphasis on doughnuts, and continuing the expansion of the menu options as consumer tastes broadened.

Some older locations retain signage with the company’s name including a possessive apostrophe, despite the fact that the official styling of the company’s name has been Tim Hortons, without an apostrophe, for at least a decade. The company had removed the apostrophe after signs using the apostrophe was interpreted by some to be breaking the language sign laws of the Province of Quebec in 1993. The removal of the apostrophe allowed the company to have one common sign image across Canada.

Although a number of Quebec locations have bilingual menu boards, the decision to have both Canadian official languages represented is left to the discretion of individual franchise owners. Some Quebec locations have French-only menu boards. It is the strong recommendation to all the Quebec restaurants from the TDL Group Corporation that they post menu boards in both English and French in accordance with the standards being enforced by the Office québécois de la langue française.

Roll Up The Rim To Win Campaign

Photos for Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop

Each February, Tim Hortons holds a marketing campaign called Roll Up the Rim to Win. As of 2007, over 31 million prizes were distributed each year, including cars, televisions, and store products. Customers determine if they have won prizes by unrolling the rim on their paper cups when they have finished their drink, revealing the result underneath. Prizes are not distributed randomly country-wide each of the company’s distribution regions has distinct prize-winning odds. The idea for the campaign began in 1985 when Roger Wilson of one of Tim Hortons’ supplier of cups, Lily Cup company, approached Tim Hortons with a new idea to increase their sales. Wilson explained his company had created a new cup design that allowed a message to be printed under the rim the cup type cost no more than the current one and could enable a promotion or contest. Recognizing the opportunity to promote coffee in the normally weak sales period in the spring, the Roll Up the Rim to Win campaign was first held in 1986 when the biggest prize was a snack box of Timbits. In 2008, over 88% of major prizes were redeemed.

The contest is popular enough that Paul Kind has invented the Rimroller ” rel=”nofollow”> Dragons’ Den), a device for rolling up the rim mechanically.

In honour of Canada’s sesquicentennial, a special edition of the Roll Up the Rim promotion was held in July 2017, with prizes including an “Ultimate Canadian Vacation” valued at $10,000.

Where And What Is Tim Hortons

I just got back from Vacation and scrambling to catch up I am going to repurpose my commentary from a prior post on the new restaurant. Sorry guys!

The Stratford location is located on a corner property of White Horse Pike at New Road, which enters into the Patco property. A TD Bank sits next to Tim Hortons property, and across the street is the old Bradlees property which has a new Dollar General out front, and a Royal Farms is still planned to be developed.

The first thing to learn about Tim Hortons is there is no apostrophe. Its just HORTONS.

And in Canada they call it Timmies

Timmies is a Canadian based Donut and Coffee shop. And in their mind they are a donut shop first, and a coffee place second. But thats just semantics. The best way to describe them is Canadas Dunkin.

But like other chains they are expanding the offerings, and they official list on their signage Cafe & Bake Shop

Sure coffee and donuts are a huge part of the Tim Hortons business model , but they also have a lunch menu featuring Turkey Bacon Club, BLT, Chipotle Cheddar Chicken Wrap, Paninis and more.

The name Tim Hortons comes from one of their founders, a Canadian hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs who with a partner started the chain in 1964. They really love their hockey in Canada. And Tim Hortons celebrates their Canadian roots.

Today there are over 4,600 Tim Horton restaurants in 14 countries, and they are Canadas largest quick-service restaurant chain.

Restaurant Chain Is Picking Up The Tab For Unsuspecting Customers Across Its Us Markets

DUBLIN, Ohio -Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop is paying it forward in celebration of National Random Acts of Kindness Week by picking up the bill for unknowing guests at the drive-thru.

This is the second year Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop has held its Random Acts of Kindness event. In 2011, the restaurant chain treated 5,100 guests to a free order. This year, it plans on treating even more customers in approximately 250 restaurants.

Doing good at the drive-thru isn’t a new concept to the cafe and bake shop chain. Restaurant owners, managers and team members regularly witness customers paying for a stranger’s order-especially during the morning rush when drive-thru lines can get particularly long.

“We were in awe of the generosity and the significant number of our guests who pay for another person’s order almost daily,” said Mike Meilleur, senior vice president U.S. operations. “Their admirable kindness and generosity inspired us to do the same.”

A customer who receives a free order will be given a sticker that reads, “I just received a Random Act of Kindness from Tim Hortons,” as well as a free coffee card to pass along to someone else to continue spreading kindness.

Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop’s Random Acts of Kindness event kicks off in all U.S. markets at select restaurants on Monday, February 13. The program ends Friday, February 17.

National Random Acts of Kindness Week is celebrated February 13-19 and was founded by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.

Merger With Burger King

On August 24, 2014, American fast-food chain Burger King announced that it was in negotiations to merge with Tim Hortons Inc the proposed $18 billion mergers would involve a tax inversion into Canada, with a new holding company majority-owned by 3G Capital, and the remaining shares in the company held by current Burger King and Tim Hortons shareholders. A Tim Hortons representative stated that the proposed merger would allow Tim Hortons to leverage Burger King’s resources for international growth the two chains would retain separate operations post-merger. News of the proposal caused Tim Hortons’ shares to increase in value by 28 percent.

Former CEO Marc Caira reassured the integrity of Tim Hortons following the purchase, stating that the acquisition would “enable us to move more quickly and efficiently to bring Tim Hortons iconic Canadian brand to a new global customer base.” On October 30, 2014, various media covered a Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives study which suggested that Burger King’s proposed takeover of Tim Hortons is “likely to have overwhelmingly negative consequences for Canadians.” This study analysed Burger King’s private equity owner, 3G Capital, and past takeovers of Burger King, Heinz, and Anheuser-Busch, and declared that “it has a 30-year history of aggressive cost cutting, which could hurt Tim Hortons employees, small-businesspeople, Canadian taxpayers, and consumers.”
