Specially Selected Whole Cashews With Sea Salt

Aldi’s Take & Bake 16″ Pepperoni Pizza Mama Cozzi’s Review with A.J

Specially Selected Whole Cashews 30 oz for $12.99

ALDI has a good variety of nuts and dried fruits, and these whole cashews are one of a few types they carry.

Ill assume most of you are familiar enough with cashews, so Ill just say, that as someone who loves cashews, these are good.

Though these cashews do look nice, they vary slightly in size and color. I assume this as the reason that they arent labeled fancy cashews, which has to do with things like size, consistency, color, etc.

Theyre good-sized, have good color, and taste like a cashew should taste.

Also, its worth it to mention that they maintain their whole state through shipping and shelving, so you wont end up with a bunch of halves and pieces.

Aldi Salad Idea #: Grilled Peach Spinach Salad

You dont have to grill the peaches, but it is easy to do and brings out a delicious sweetness to the fruit. This salad makes a perfect lunch or serves well alongside grilled steak, chicken, or fish for dinner. You could easily switch out the peaches for grilled pineapple or non-grilled fruits, such as strawberries or apples.

  • peaches $1.69/lb. I used one peach per person.
  • almonds A 14 oz bag of whole almonds $4.15. Sprinkle on to your desired taste. I didnt use the entire bag for this salad, so the rest was eaten as a snack.
  • spinach Organic $2.49. Non-organic $1.99.
  • red onion A bag of red onions was $2.19.
  • goat cheese $1.99. Not a fan of goat cheese? Feta works well too.
  • ALDIs Simply Nature Poppy Seed Dressing goes well with this salad, $1.99. Or use your favorite dressing.

  • Combine the spinach and onions. Top with almonds, goat cheese, grilled peaches, and your favorite dressing.

Where Does Aldi Get Its Bread

You might be wondering where Aldi gets their bread from, since they clearly dont have bakeries in their stores.

Many manufacturers and wholesalers can contribute products under the same label, so the sources vary.

But, some enterprising Redditors report that Aldis hamburger buns are the product of Bimbo Bakery, the parent company for brands like Brownberry, Entenmanns, Sara Lee, Thomas and Boboli.

While I cant 100 percent confirm this is the case, the evidence suggests that Aldi has a longstanding partnership with Bimbo Bakery, and it is very likely that Bimbo is still the source of many of Aldis Loven Fresh bread products.

Aldi Wants Fans To Have A Heart With Its Valentine’s Day

6 Vegetarian Items from ALDI to Fill a Picnic Basket

Making Valentine’s Day plans can sometimes fall by the wayside, perhaps especially this year with Super Bowl LVI and all of its accompanying festivities occurring the day before the annual celebration of love. Luckily, there’s still plenty of time to set something up for you and your special someone though the clock might be ticking a little faster for those hoping to make dinner at a romantic restaurant the main event of the night.

Per Today, the mid-February holiday is traditionally the second-busiest day of the year for the restaurant industry, and even amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, eateries are still expecting to see large crowds. According to a recent Lending Tree survey, 37% of couples are planning to go out for a special Valentine’s Day dinner this year, while an additional 16% say they’ll be celebrating by getting takeout.

Taking this into consideration, there’s a distinct possibility that attempts to make last-minute reservations or timely to-go orders might not go as planned. But even if the best-laid plans of mice and romantics go awry, there’s at least still the option of eating at home. Aldi seems to have planned ahead in anticipation of people who want to cook and eat a meal at home. The grocer is selling a number of Valentine’s Day-related products, including love-themed lava cakes and cheesy bread that’s shaped like Cupid’s favorite target. The latter item recently made an appearance on social media.

Aldi And Bakers In Spat Over Fresh Bread

German bakers have taken discount store Aldi to court over its claim that machines in its stores dispense freshly baked bread at the touch of a button. A judge who wanted a look at the raw dough was denied permission.

Self-service options at discount grocery stores have hurt bakers

When customers visit one of the 1,770 Aldi Süd stores equipped with a self-service bread machine in the southern and western parts of Germany, they may think they’ve walked into the future. They simply press a button on a machine panel, and out pops what the discount chain claims is freshly baked bread.

But it’s too good to be true, according to the German Bakers’ Confederation in Berlin, which has brought a lawsuit against the chain claiming false advertising. They believe the machines simply warm up the bread, and maybe put a bit of a brown crust on it.

The fight recently heated up when Aldi denied a judge in Duisburg – where the lawsuit has been filed – the right to inspect the raw dough fed into the machines, which are largely hidden from customers’ view.

Armin Werner of the German Bakers’ Confederation told Deutsche Welle that “there are very strong indicators that they have something to hide.”

“Various bakers discovered that the bread comes out at different temperatures, and that sometimes the rolls come out with a still-frozen center,” he said. “We found their advertising claim that ‘we’re baking bread and rolls for you all day long’ to be impudent.”

L’oven Fresh Bread Is Simply Amazing

L’oven Fresh bread, sold exclusively at Aldi Stores, is by far the absolute best white bread I have ever tasted. Now, I’m not talking about homemade bread or the kind you get fresh from the bakery, but rather the type that comes in the plastic bag with the accompanying bread tie.Any other bread I have ever bought, including all of the high end brands, may be fine for a day or two, but then the familiar chemical taste and smell begins to creep in, permeating the entire taste of the bread and ruining the whole loaf. And, forget putting any other white, store-bought bread in the fridge to keep it fresher longer as it will only harden and be good for not much more than feeding the birds.L’oven Fresh by Aldi’s, on the other hand, is as fresh 10 days later as it is on the first. I’ve had it last for as long as two weeks, still remaining edible and without mold or hard crusts to contend with. I’ve been tempted to write the company and let them know just how awesome I think their brand is, but haven’t yet.In the meantime, you can be sure L’oven Fresh is always in our kitchen, always smelling fresh, and tasting the way white bread is supposed to – like bread and not a host of chemicals I can’t even pronounce.

Why You Should Never Buy Pizza From Aldi

The Best Bread To Buy At The Grocery Store…And What To Avoid!

Aldi has a lot of fans and with good reason. The supermarket chain keeps its loyal customers happy with a business model that focuses on efficiency, and a pared-down approach in its store format, products, and service. Because of the lack of frills, Aldi is able to offer prices that are competitively low in comparison to other retailers, and grocery shoppers definitely return for that reason.

Despite the savings, sometimes Aldi can be a miss when it comes to their products . One such product is the bargain grocery stores frozen pizza. Store-bought frozen pizza can be great as a grab-and-go option that you can quickly pop into the oven for dinner for you and your family. But no matter how cheap the pizza is, its only worth buying if it actually tastes good. Theres reason to believe that Aldis frozen pizza leaves something to be desired.

Aldi Salad Idea #: Pesto Tortellini Salad

This recipe is just 5 ingredients and couldnt be easier to prepare. It goes well with burgers, steak, grilled chicken, or shrimp. Its also a perfect salad for a potluck.

    Ingredients Needed:

    • 2 packages of Priano Three Cheese Tortellini I found these in the refrigerated cheese section. $1.99. There are dried tortellini packages by the pasta, but we prefer the refrigerated version.
    • 1 jar 6.7 oz Pesto Sauce $1.69
    • 1 package of grape tomatoes $1.99 $2.89. We prefer Cherub Tomatoes which cost a few cents more.
    • red onion, diced A bag of red onions costs $2.19. You will use red onions in other recipes. Use 1/2 1 full onion depending on your love of onions.
    • fresh mozzarella $2.39. Chop the mozzarella into bite-sized pieces or look for the mini mozzarella balls.

  • Prepare the tortellini according to package instructions, BUT after draining rinse in very cold water until the pasta has cooled.
  • In a large serving dish, combine all of the ingredients. Use as much of the pesto sauce as youd like. I use about 1/2 3/4 of the jar.

Aldis Mama Cozzi Frozen Pizza Misses The Mark

Aldis store brand pizzas, under the private label Mama Cozzi, are tempting to add to your cart because they only cost a fraction of what you would normally pay for to-go pizza from any restaurant chain, or local pizzeria, at under $3. But ultimately, you get what you pay for. The frozen pizza reportedly lacks flavor and doesnt have a lot of toppings .

Aldis pizza crusts are not super popular among some shoppers either. When the grocery stores original pizza crusts were reviewed, the final opinion was that they were unremarkable, and added little to your pizza experience. Because the crusts are so thin and bland, the only flavor youll get are from your own toppings.

Because the main selling point for Aldis pizza is the price, not the taste, its not surprising that Mama Cozzi fell under the radar when major outlets have tasted and ranked their favorite frozen pizzas. Delish, The Daily Meal, Good Housekeeping, Taste of Home, and The Kitchn have all reviewed frozen pizzas within the past year or so. None of them have mentioned Aldi or Mama Cozzi in their rankings.

Pizza From Aldi Doesnt Taste Great

Blog I Ate Oklahomatested the Five Cheese pizza and noted the blend of cheeses didnt pack enough flavor to offset the traditional crust, while the sauce was described as one note. Likewise, the sauce and cheeses didnt complement each other. Overall, the writer noted that Aldi pizza isnt quite as good as the similarly cheap Hot-and-Ready from Little Caesars.

Aldi Reviewer confirms the new recipe is certainly an improvement on the previous variety, which notably wasnt a hit with Aldi shoppers. The sausage pizza was passable, the cheese and sausage described as competent while the crust was okay if not as flaky as youd expect. A Reddit user argued the crust is too thin, almost cracker-like, on the sausage pizza while the toppings simply tasted like salt. The main selling point across the board is the price so, if youre mainly concerned with not paying too much, Mama Cozzis might suit. Otherwise, there are better supermarket frozen pizzas on the market.

Lidls Cheese Pizza Promised A Brick

Its a bold claim for any frozen pizza to call itself brick-oven style, but especially one as cheap as Lidls.

There was little more than a meager sprinkle of 100% real mozzarella and Edam cheeses. And the little that was there was dried out and got stringy in the oven.

Through the many gaps, I could see a dark-red sauce over a very thin crust. But there were visible and plentiful dried herbs with the promise of flavor.

I could definitely taste the seasonings, but the solid, cracker-like crust was in the spotlight. It was slightly sweet in a good way, and it was crunchy and flat all the way through.

Reheated and topped with a little more sauce and cheese, it came out slightly soft in the center but still crispy.

This was a pretty good frozen pizza that was thoughtfully made, but ultimately, you get what you pay for.

Aldis Pepperoni Pizza Wasnt Anything Special

Aldi Garlic Pizza Bread Review | DOMINO’S KILLER?!

Peeling back the plastic to reveal Aldis pizza was both a letdown and a delight. There wasnt much of the real cheese it advertised, but there were 19 thick slices of pepperoni.

Due to the thicker, heavier crust, it needed a little more time in the oven than its Lidl counterpart. When it was finally done, I was sad to see stringy, dry cheese and pools of pepperoni grease.

It reminded me of school-cafeteria pizza.

Another unappealing aspect was the sauce. It was thin, kind of watery, and lacked seasoning.

Even though the soft pepperoni had a sharp and pleasant flavor, the sweetness of the pizza base was the dominant taste.
