Just in time for Valentines Day, New York cupcake shop Baked by Melissa is launching same-day cupcake delivery in Jersey City, Manhattan, and Hoboken.
Co-founded in 2009 by New Jersey native Melissa Ben-Ishay, Baked by Melissa is a cupcake phenomenon thats been featured everywhere from Oprah to Time. The bakery makes tiny, bite-sized cupcakes in a variety of flavors that range from Cookies & Cream to their signature Tie-Dye Cupcake. Most of the cupcakes are less than 50 calories and Baked by Melissa also offers vegan and gluten-free options.
Hoboken Girl reports that Baked by Melissas local-delivery is only available in zip codes 07302, 07310, and 07030. That roughly covers downtown Jersey City, Newport, and Hoboken. They also report that Baked by Melissa could open a storefront in Hoboken. Ben-Ishay currently resides in Hoboken and this could be their dry-run before they announce a new storefront.
To get your same-day cupcake delivery, just place your order online, choose same-day delivery at checkout, and voilà. Deliveries begin as early as 9am and run as late as 9pm. . In terms of cost, a pack of 25 cupcakes costs $30. Same-day delivery adds an extra $9.95.

My husband and I actually came upon this little gem accidentally on a mad dash form one tour to the theatre, and I’m so glad we did! A beautiful presentation! Flavorful mini bites of yum! Thank goodness they have the variety packs because we couldn’t…decide on just one…and we didn’t have to! We chose the 20 pack after sampling a couple of unique flavors right in the store. Our Baked By Melissa Review
We had the opportunity to try an assortment of Baked By Melissa cupcakes. What a treat!
I got excited when I saw the bright red box get delivered to our door. I can only imagine what an awesome treat it would be to send these to someone as a surprise gift.
My excitement grew as I open the packaged and pulled out the bright tie-dye box inside. The tie-dye box is very sturdy and you just slide the cupcakes right out from the side opening. Very handy.
The company specializes in shipping cupcakes across the company and it shows. The packaging design not only keeps the treats in good shape, it also helps ensure freshness.
You can see in the picture below that even after getting jostled around during transit and flipped around for my photos, the treats arrived in really good shape.
Even those little guys in the middle that turned sideways still had their fluffy frosting intact!
We enjoyed a 25-pack that contained all the tried and true favorites like tie-dye, red velvet, peanut butter and jelly, cookie dough, mint cookies, cookies and cream, chocolate chip pancake and triple chocolate fudge.
This flavor assortment provides a great mix of classic vanilla and chocolate cake, plus other fun tastes like mint, pancake and red velvet.
For frosting, some had chocolate or vanilla icing, while a fair amount had other specialty flavors like peanut butter and maple.

We eat a LOT of beets in my house. They’re so good for you and they’re delicious, and my kids love that they make their smoothies hot pink. Beet salads are nothing revolutionary: In France, they’re grated and sold in butcher shops in Russia, boiled and mixed with mayonnaise in Poland, available both hot and cold and in New York, very often served with goat cheese. The one commonality is sweet, earthy, beautiful beets.
