Best Microwave Brands And 1 I Will Never Buy Again

Today I had a brand new Whirlpool over-the-range microwave installed. We decided to purchase a Whirlpool because of the name recognition, features and price. Before we decided on whirlpool, I compiled a list of microwave brands that we chose from. Here is that list.

Before I reveal the 12 best microwave brands, I want to spend a few minutes discussion how I created this list. This list is based on the following:

• Brand strength
• Features
• Customer reviews

Brand strength: How well known and liked the brand is within the appliance world. Are consumers aware of this brand, or is it an unknown?

Number of Offerings: Number of offerings means how many products they have for consumers. Do they have products for both over-the-range and countertop microwaves, or do they only offer one? Also, do they target all consumers, just the high end, or just the low end?

Price: Like number of offerings, does this brand target all levels on income?

Features: How many different features does this brand offer? Does this brand have express or convection cooking, or eco mode?

Customer reviews: What are customers saying on major websites like Amazon or Best Buy? Do customers have an overall favorable view of the brand?

The One Brand I Will Never Buy Again

The one brand that I will never buy again is GE. My GE microwave is the reason I began this blog. Storytime!

We had our house built in 2012. During the installation, we had an option to install a number of different microwaves but we decided on GE because of name recognition. Fast forward 4 years and we noticed that a few of the buttons on the keypad stopped working. We noticed this after we had house cleaners and assumed it was them.

As the months went on, more and more buttons stopped working. Eventually, we got to a point where only the express 2 was the only button that worked. Just picture this, to cook anything in the microwave you have to overcook your food and hope that its not too bad to eat.

As I looked into the problem, I noticed a number of GE microwaves had the same issue. This issue spans across different products and product lines. This issue impacts both cheap and expensive microwaves.

The issue stems from a connector between the keypad and control board. The connector at the keypad becomes loose over time and needs to be pushed back in. There are a number of YouTube videos that show people reconnecting the connector between the keypad and control board.

Unfortunately for me, the YouTube videos did not fix my problem and I made the decision to purchase a new microwave.

So many options in one appliance. It was manufactured in July 2003, and works great. Great for dorm use. Its 1000w, 120v 60hz the round glass tray, toast rack, and turning mechanism are included in excellent condition.

Unfortunately, it does not work as a built-in, and with our kitchen re model, that is what we need. Therefore its time to say goodbye this awesome device SAMSUNG toast and bake microwave oven does the usual stuff, plus it works as a toaster convection.

Fabulous To Have A Microwave And Toaster Oven In One

The Samsung Toast & Bake Microwave oven works splendidly! I love having these two appliances in one unit. Takes up less space than two separate pieces. Has a turn table and a shelf for baking pans. Also comes with a baking pan shelf to use.The microwave works just like any other one, and the toaster oven has two sets of burners. You can use both or just one set. Speed cook uses both of the unit’s capabilities to get the cooking job done quicker, but still give you some of the “baked taste” everyone likes so well. You don’t have to heat the whole kitchen with this beauty. It looks nice in the kitchen too. I recommend this product highly.

Love The Toast And Bake

I really appreciate the “do all” concept of this microwave. It eliminates the need for a toaster or toaster oven and for households where kitchen counter space is at a premium, this is a great solution. I admit I was very skepitical when my husband insisted on buying it, but I am a believer in this microwave now, after owning it for a while. It can do a lot, so it can take a while to learn it all but it is worth it and there is always the instruction book to refer to. If I had to voice one complaint, I would say that it is not the easiest microwave to clean with the exposed burners, however it is way easier than cleaning the typical toaster oven! I would also suggest that when using it in the bake or broil modes, watch the food to make sure you do not over cook. I have found it tends to cook faster than a standard oven, perhaps it is in a smaller space. I use this appliance a lot so I look for durability in my products and this passed my abuse test.

The Stop/Clear button allows you to clear instructions you have entered. It also allows you to pause the ovens cooking cycle, so that you can check the food.

To pause the oven during cooking: press Stop/Clear once. To restart, press Start.

To stop cooking, erase instructions, and return the oven display to the time of day: Press Stop/Clear twice.
