Keto Ham and Cheese Rolls can easily be reheated in the oven or microwave.

  • To reheat in the microwave: heat on full power for a minute or two , checking at 30-second intervals.
  • To reheat in the oven: preheat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and stick them in for 8-10 minutes, checking regularly and turning your rolls around halfway through.

Can You Store Leftover Baked Ham

ABSOLUTELY!

In fact, I think one of the best parts of a spiral ham is the leftovers. You can heat up the slices on their own, throw them into some scrambled eggs or an omelet for breakfast, or toss them in a soup like this nice Instant Pot ham chowder.

Or just eat it with your hands right out of the refrigerator. No judgement here.

To safely store your leftovers, just cover the ham and keep it in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days or in the freezer for 1 to 2 months.

Keto Ham Glaze Variations

For my keto ham recipe, I chose to use blood oranges and ginger to flavour but either of these could easily be exchanged for other ingredients.

The following variations would work well with any of our keto pork recipes too.

KETO APRICOT & RUM GLAZED HAM RECIPE

Soak 6-8 dried apricots in 1/4 cup of bourbon or rum overnight. Blend in a food processor and cook as per the recipe below. While apricots generally have about 3g net carbs used in a recipe like this and the amount servings the carbs will still be very minimal.

KETO MAPLE GLAZED HAM RECIPE

Omit blood orange and ginger and add 2 tablespoons sugar-free maple syrup in its place. Reduce the glaze as per the recipe.

KETO MARMALADE GLAZED HAM RECIPE

Omit blood orange and ginger and add 4 tablespoons sugar marmalade in its place. Reduce the glaze as per the recipe.

How To Store Spiral Ham

When you have leftover spiral ham its easy to store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for 5-7 days, just make sure to keep it in a tightly secured plastic container or Ziploc bag.

You can also freeze your spiral ham in the same manner and it will stay fresh for 3-6 months if you wrap it securely.

Whether you can eat baked ham on the keto diet or not depends on how it is glazed and prepared. According to Eat This Much, there are 2g net carbs in 2 ounces of an unglazed spiral ham.

If you ever see a glazed ham, just expect it to be covered in either honey or some other type of sugar which isnt good on the keto diet. Unglazed ham or baked ham with a sugar-free glaze is low enough in carbs to be keto-friendly.

Yes, you can actually cook your spiral ham in a crock pot if you like. The best way to do that is to brush it with the glaze and add a little water or chicken broth to the pot. Cook it on low for 3-5 hours depending on big the ham is. Remember your ham is already cooked so you are just reheating it.

This is a nice way to cook it if you dont want to heat up your oven which you may not want to do in the Summer, or if you need the space in the oven for all the side dishes that you need to make for your dinner.

If you ask me, I dont think theres ever a bad time for this sugar free ham. Sure, its perfect for the holidays but its also great any time you have friends and family coming to town! Its an impressive meal, and the leftovers can feed people for days.
