Why Are My Pork Chops Always Tough
Pork chops are an exceptionally lean cut of meat, which means it’s very easy to overcook them, which makes them dry and tough. This can happen quickly in just a couple of minutes, whether it’s on the stovetop, in the oven, or on the grill. The marinade helps keep them juicy, and so does checking them for doneness. The most important thing is to cook it until it reaches 145 to 150 F on an instant-read thermometer.

Ranch Baked Pork Chops
My Ranch Baked Pork Chops are one of those recipes that I keep coming back to over and over again. Baked pork chops are so easy to make, just add a little seasoning to the pork shops, place them on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. When they are done you have juicy baked pork chops that go great with roasted ranch potatoes or some steamed broccoli.

The seasoning is what really makes these baked pork chops stand out. These ranch pork chops are seasoned with my homemade ranch mix. It is a blend of powdered buttermilk, dried parsley, dill, and chives, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a little paprika. All of the herbs and spices are mixed together, and then the pork chops are lightly coated in the ranch mix. The smell of those ranch pork chops as they bake is going to make your mouth water.

Why This Recipe Works
As far as dinner recipes go, this one-pan dish is easy, delicious, and ultra-creamy. For families of 4 or 5, this is an affordable family dinner thanks to the low cost of pork compared to similar beef cuts.
This recipe is very similar to my creamy Tuscan chicken alfredo and lemon chicken recipe, both very affordable main dishes. And you could easily substitute pork for chicken in this recipe.
Pork can be tricky! Unlike beef, which is often cooked to medium or medium-rare and super tender, pork should be fully cooked. With pork, you have to get it just right to ensure the cuts are juicy and tender.
The easiest way to make no-fail pork chops is with a cream sauce. Not only does the creamy ranch sauce taste amazing and pair perfectly with pork, but it also helps the pork stay moist, juicy, and tender all at the same time.
Ultimately this creamy ranch pork chop recipe is popular thanks to its pleasant savory taste, meaty flavor, and creamy texture. And the fact it is a super easy, one-pan dish, and affordable factors into it.
OH, and in case you’re wondering, you can turn this into a creamy slow cooker pork chop recipe!
Can I Use A Slow Cooker
Yes, you can! Even though this is cooked in a pan, it can still be made in an instant pot, crock pot, or slow cooker. The outcome does vary, but overall these ranch pork chops come out great regardless of the method.
Follow the instructions outlined in this recipe but sear the pork chops on high heat before adding them to the slow cooker.

These pork chops are beyond simple, making them perfect for weeknight dinner. Just 3 ingredients and about 30 minutes to make these chops.
I love any recipe that can be made with just a few ingredients that you keep on hand. Considering pork chops and oil are two of the ingredients, really its the dry ranch mix that you need to make sure you have stocked in your pantry. I buy the large container of dry ranch mix that Costco carries because well I like ranch. . . a lot.
The ranch and pork combo may sound strange. But trust me they totally go together.

Tips For Cooking Pork Chops
When the pork chops come out of the oven, top with freshly minced parsley. This step is not necessary but with a mostly dry seasoning rub, I like the addition of a fresh herb. Plus, it looks so much more appetizing with a confetti of parsley.

How To Store Ranch Pork Chops In The Freezer
You can store these in the freezer one of two ways.
UncookedAdd the seasonings to your pork chops and then lay them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place them in the freezer. Once frozen, place them in a freezer-safe zip-top bag.
CookedCook the pork chops completely. Once cooked, place them in the freezer on a baking sheet in a single layer. Once frozen, put them in a freezer-safe zip-top bag.
How To Reheat Baked Pork Chops
I don’t recommend using the microwave to reheat them. It will cause them to overcook.
If you froze your pork chops uncooked, allow them to thaw in the refrigerator over night and then bake as normal.
If your pork chops are cooked and frozen, let them thaw first.
If you are reheating thawed, cooked pork chops, I recommend putting them on a sheet pan in the oven at 300°F until heated throw. You want them to slowly reheat without overcooking them.
